Featured: Molding and Millwork

Kings Point, NY

Background:

The art of millworking goes back to the times of the Renaissance. Artist guilds would create fabulous furniture, moldings, and detailing by-hand that showcased ornate styles and commitment to perfection. Understanding the past and looking into the future, Teoria is steadfast in providing timeless pieces, ageless finishes, and exception work for all of its clients.

Featured Millwork Project:

Keeping the rustic and robust style of typical millwork, Teoria executed several rooms and styles of traditional millwork for a terrific project in Kings Point, N.Y. Throughout the home, you will notice exceptional wood designs, cabinetry, storage, and molding.

Starting in the living room, Teoria crafted and installed a grand TV and storage hutch in traditional cherry wood finish.

The piece is at the forefront of the space and features stunning crown molding, fluted wood pillars and columns, and delicate perimeter length egg-and-dart detailing.

The unit also showcases ornate wood corbels. The corbel design comes from Latin and can have images of animals, trees, plants, and agriculture. For additional design and style, glass doors were created as well as parallel arched shelving to balance out the strong wood design.

Behind the seating area is a great integrated arch featuring the same cherry colored wood and brilliant glass displays.

The piece showcases stately ornate molding and detail as well as accented trimmed wood paneling. For extra functionality, recessed lighting was installed in the archway to illuminate the dark wood as well as the glass.

This is a stunning and unique way to link two adjoining rooms as well as show case elegant woodwork.
