Great Neck, NY
Before the renovation, this kitchen housed outdated white flat paneled cabinetry, a black countertop, and old appliances. The white and black made the kitchen feel retro, stark, and uninviting. When the homeowners came to us, they wanted to keep a similar layout, but install new cabinets, new countertops, and include an ornate tile backsplash. Their desires would modernize the entire space as well as keep the area sleek and bright. This kitchen renovation was also especially interesting because the clients wanted a custom fish tank to act as a natural barrier between the seating and dining area. In addition, a major request by the homeowners was to install many cabinets for ample space, storage, and accessibility. On a different note, the skylight above the island lets in a ton of natural light which makes this space ideal for a white and bright kitchen! Check out the after photos to see how it came out below!
When looking at the post-renovation photos, you will notice that the entire space is brighter and cleaner. The old countertop was replaced with a light grey quartz stone to offer modernity, style, and durability. The light grey beautifully accents the white cabinetry and silver hardware. Although the cabinets stayed white, the new cabinetry features our Plato White Dove custom inset door style with a raised panel.
The Dove White color is softer than the old cabinetry color and offers more detail and style. The transitional look also makes the space feel homey as well as modern and sleek. The new silver hardware replaces the old integrated handle cabinetry and makes the space feel more inviting.
To transform the outdated white backsplash, we installed ornate geometric tiling on the far wall for a pop of color and added detail. We also made sure to increase storage space by custom making and fabricating bigger cabinetry and a complete wall of units for the homeowners. Other work includes a custom window trim above the sink area and a fish tank to act as a natural divider. We also installed Wolf Appliances for accessibility and modernity and repositioned some of the appliances to offer better flow.
